20th January 2022 – In early January, Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM) launched YFBM’s Flood Relief Team which was officiated by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of YFBM, His Highness Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah located at the YFBM office. Therefore, this week, YFBM will continue this post-flood relief mission to Temerloh and Mentakab, Pahang together with three (3) Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) namely Sahabat Jariah Malaysia (SJM), Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sedulur (SEDULUR) and NGOs. WITUS WOMEN & SINGLE MOTHERS ASSOCIATION.
This assistance is expected to benefit at least 38 families, 2 mosques and 5 suraus in 5 villages around Temerloh and Mentakab, Pahang.
Through this mission, YFBM’s Chief Operating Officer, Encik Johan Halid said, “This mission to Mentakab has received sponsorship from Xiaomi Malaysia worth almost RM500,000, as well as volunteers from three other NGOs. With a larger group, various activities have been well planned such as cleaning the houses of flood victims, suraus and mosques ”.
Through this mission, YFBM’s Chief Operating Officer, Encik Johan Halid said, “This mission to Mentakab has received sponsorship from Xiaomi Malaysia worth almost RM500,000, as well as volunteers from three other NGOs. Johan added that donations in the form of basic household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, mattresses, pillows, cupboards, kitchen utensils as well as the cost of repairing damaged houses are also fully borne. “Besides that, we would also like to express our deepest appreciation to the Public Works Department (JKR) for helping us in terms of logistics and transportation in carrying basic household appliances,” he added.Commenting on the corporate sponsorship, Encik Johan Halid said, “This mission to Mentakab is phase 1, while phase 2 will follow in the near future. Therefore, YFBM always welcomes more corporate companies to continue to work together so that more assistance can be given to the community.
